Working closely with leaders across Operations, Clinical Governance, Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition and People & Culture, you will design and oversee the frameworks that ensure our clinical and non-clinical workforce is capable, compliant and ready to deliver. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of workforce capability frameworks, learning pathways and development strategies aligned with operational and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee mandatory training, onboarding, competency and workforce readiness programs, ensuring employees are prepared for mobilisation, transition and service commencement.
  • Partner with Clinical Governance, Operations and Workforce Planning to identify current and future capability requirements, workforce risks and development priorities.
  • Design and implement leadership, professional development, career pathway and succession initiatives that strengthen performance, retention and workforce sustainability.
  • Establish strong learning and capability governance, including learning systems, competency management, reporting, dashboards and executive visibility of workforce readiness.
  • Lead and coordinate Learning & Development Coordinators, Clinical Educators and external education providers to deliver consistent, practical and operationally relevant learning outcomes.

About you

We are looking for an experienced learning and capability leader who can operate strategically while translating complex workforce requirements into practical programs and frameworks. You will ideally bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Learning & Development, Education, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Health Management or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading learning and development, workforce capability or organisational development within a complex organisation.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing capability frameworks, learning strategies, competency pathways and professional development programs.
  • Experience managing mandatory training, compliance learning and workforce readiness, ideally within healthcare, Defence, government contracting or another regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, learning systems, capability metrics and reporting, with the ability to translate organisational requirements into effective workforce solutions.
  • Highly developed stakeholder and leadership capability, with experience partnering across operational, clinical and corporate functions; experience supporting large-scale mobilisation or workforce transition will be highly regarded.
  • The successful candidate will be required to meet applicable employment and security requirements, including the ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance.
