Job Description

The Learning Development Facilitator position will assist the program director with all aspects of project management including managing resources, staff, planning program activities, evaluating the program for efficiency and effectiveness, coordinating all aspects of operating the program and overseeing all aspects of marketing the program to the community.

This position will require a level II Background check. This position is grant funded.

50% – Instruction and Client Support

  • Teach all HOT DOCS Español classes (10 hours per week).
  • Provide individual consultation sessions in Spanish (10 hours per week).

25% – Recruitment, Coordination, and Program Operations

  • Lead recruitment, coordination, and marketing efforts for the HOT DOCS program.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for potential clients and participants, including phone outreach, screening, enrollment, and registration processes.
  • Coordinate class logistics, send class reminders, follow up with clients who do not attend, and facilitate client arrival to class.
  • Translate new program materials as needed.
  • Estimated effort: approximately 20 hours per week.

20% – Translation of Program Materials

  • Translate all HOT DOCS teaching and training materials into Spanish for non–English-speaking clients and for professionals providing services in Spanish.
  • During the start-up phase, this responsibility may require up to 40 hours per week.
  • After start-up, effort will shift primarily to recruitment and marketing activities described above.

5% – Other Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Education, Adult Education or equivalent with one year of experience in a professional training position; or a Master’s degree in the same field. Certain grants and programs may also have specific education and/or certification requirements specific to the subject matter area of the program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English, both orally and in writing

SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements

A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:

• (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;

• (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;

• (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;

(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or

(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree

Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.

Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
