Learner Engagement Officer

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
Location: West Yorkshire (Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield)

The Role

As a Learner Engagement Officer, you will play a central role in attracting, engaging, and supporting adult learners onto Adult Education Budget (AEB) programmes across West Yorkshire.

This is a relationship-driven, community-focused role where your ability to connect with individuals and partners will be key to success.

Key responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with job centres, community organisations, and referral networks
• Identify and engage unemployed individuals who can benefit from training and employability programmes
• Act as a key point of contact, providing Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) to learners and stakeholders
• Support delivery of learner engagement strategies to meet recruitment targets and KPIs
• Organise and attend outreach events, community sessions, and engagement activities
• Track engagement performance and produce reports to support continuous improvement
• Maintain accurate and compliant learner records
• Provide ongoing support, motivation, and guidance to learners throughout their journey
• Stay up to date with AEB funding rules, sector developments, and programme updates

Ideal Candidate

You are a proactive and people-focused professional with a passion for helping individuals access opportunities and progress into employment or education.

You will bring:

• Experience in learner engagement, employability outreach, or stakeholder engagement
• Exposure to adult education, AEB programmes, or skills training (desirable)
• An IAG qualification or willingness to work towards one
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives
• Confident IT skills and general digital literacy
• A solid understanding of the employability and adult education landscape
