Job Description

Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and soon a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors. In 2020, Bosch Malaysia generated consolidated sales of RM 518.4 million (108.1 million euros) and currently employs more than 4,000 associates.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction began in May 2021, and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

  • Responsible to ensure smooth running of Bosch Production System (BPS) activities to be in line with company goals and objectives at the Value Stream area, which covers coordination, planning, implementation, effectiveness and aligned with plant BPS Vision, Mission direction and BPS Road Map deployment.
  • Responsible for production line layout as per PGL concept and improvement of the line productivity and working towards improving utilization rate of the machines.
  • To ensure correct application of all relevant company guidelines for production and output determination according to BPS/Lean Concepts.
  • Able to perform and assist with Root cause analysis and Problem solving in close cooperation with production and manufacturing teams.
  • Initiate technical, organizational and changeover improvements and implement them with production incl. improvement plan.
  • Able to support workshops for Value Stream Planning (VSP)/System CIP Projects and regular/annual BPS assessment of the maturity level.
  • Responsible to calculate and Maintain (BP-) Routing (VT/teb-calculation based on cycle time improvements) incl. definition of potential saving and lead the defined Ratio projects.
  • Responsible to maintain Productions Routing (Productive routing (A1)) in CAPP element for PgP5.
  • Apply PGL systematic approach to coordinate the new and the re-planning of low waste production systems and take project hazards into full consideration.
  • Execute any other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor from time to

    time with compliance related company, central and legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and lean methodologies.
  • Methodology & Technical Expertise:
    • Solid understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing concepts (BPS).
    • Proven ability to systematically implement clear, logical standards for manufacturing processes.
    • Strong business acumen with a well-rounded blend of technical and commercial understanding.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on resolving issues based on facts and figures.
  • Project & Goal Alignment:
    • Demonstrated ability to drive initiatives and make decisions that align with the company's vision and core goals (SQCD: Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery).
    • Proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities for cost savings and quality improvements.
  • Social & Collaboration Skills:
    • Strong team player who can collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent communication, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills to facilitate meetings and workshops.
    • Proven ability to positively influence others and drive change across various departments.
    • Hands-on experience instructing, guiding, and coaching teams directly on the shop floor.
    • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and highly results-driven.
