All about the role:
As part of the Lean Engineering Team within Satu Mare site, you will directly report to the Factory Engineering Manager. Thanks to the transversal responsibilities expected for this role you will have the opportunity to gain experience across the Food Preparation Product lines and Electrolux Major Appliance - Europe.
What you’ll do:
You will ensure the implementation of best-in-class, standardized and optimized solutions for different Lean optimization projects. The Lean Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and business processes by applying Lean principles, tools, and methodologies. The role focuses on improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost through waste elimination, process standardization, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare technical specification for new equipment and tooling.
Rationalize plant layout.
Perform line balancing activities to optimize workload distribution and maximize line efficiency.
Design and implement balanced production lines based on takt time requirements.
Support layout changes to improve flow and reduce waiting, motion, and overproduction.
Collaborate with Production and Industrial Engineering to support ramp‑ups and volume changes.
Reduce labor variance and improve productivity through effective line balancing.
Adhere to 5S and Standard Work Procedure (SWP) methodologies. 5S, standard work.
Support Maintenance team in improvements of performance equipment
Interface with R&D, Quality and Central Engineering for manufacturability of products.
Cooperation with Central Engineering to industrialize new products and research innovative solutions for smart and optimal manufacturing processes.
Process optimization: Analyze current processes and design improved future‑state processes.
Reduce cycle time, lead time, scrap, and downtime.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor/master’s degree in Electronics / Electric Engineering or equivalent education.
2–5 years of experience in manufacturing or operations environment.
Strong problem solving with consistent analysis of KPIs.
Process-oriented and cost-conscious mindset.
Open-minded and improvement-oriented attitude.
Practical experience applying Lean tools in real projects.
Experience leading or participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Good communication skills (ability to interact with factory and at R&D colleagues).
Fluent in English.
