British American Tobacco Bangladesh has an exciting opportunity for a Leaf Depot Operations Officer - Jhenaidah

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Execute contingency fund (CF) management and keep its accountability
  • Oversee the inventory management of prized and green leaf and carry out on time stock reconciliation
  • Ensure timely and disciplined distribution of the crop inputs among the farmers & involve in implementing of different farmers’ support programs
  • Establish a close working relationship with field team whilst extending the support to the farming community
  • Ensure On time correct documentation/Record management
  • Support buying activities through ensuring raising PO, arranging buying materials, ensuring logistics
  • Supervise post buying re handling activities (Grading Stripping, butting etc.) to support MPS/Green Leaf Transfer order, WH management and PI&T related activities
  • Support the implementation of ESG and EH&S initiatives including afforestation for sustainable Leaf Operations
  • Build effective relationships with vendors, cross functional team mostly Finance team, government agencies and local communities for ensuring smooth day to day business
  • Lead and supervise third-party contractors and labour teams to deliver operational excellence and maintain workplace standards
  • Work on fleet management to have cost optimization
  • Execute and monitor data entry and verification of data through company affiliated apps (MBL)
  • Lead maintenance, housekeeping and hygiene & sanitation of the depot through compliance
  • Maintain relationship with local government authorities including service provider (PDB, REB, WZPDCL etc.), local financial organizations, Zila Parishad/Municipality/Upazila Parishad/Union Parishad and other relevant financial organizations

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Agriculture, Botany, Soil Science, Biotechnology, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of Depot operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience managing suppliers, contractors, and external service providers
  • Strong knowledge on sustainable farming practices and farmer management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and team management skills
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to live and work in rural locations as required
  • Proficiency in inventory tracking systems and Microsoft Excel.
