What You'll Do as a LEADS Infrastructure Operations Specialist 4

  • Works with operating units, business units & vendors to design & manage agency storage systems, computer systems & hypervisor environments across multiple data centers.
  • Designs, configures, & maintains synchronous data center storage replication, computer resources, &/or hypervisor environments for high availability, offsite backup, & disaster recovery (HA/DR) between multiple data centers.
  • Troubleshoots tier III hypervisor, computer & storage issues including kernel/module issues, storage latency, crash analysis & orchestration problems; Performs root cause analysis & lead remediation efforts.
  • Works extensively with operating units, business units & vendors to design & manage uninterrupted power, Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning (HVAC), fire detection & suppression infrastructure, & emergency failover & failback procedures across multiple data centers.
  • Integrates fire detection & suppression systems, generator, transfer switch, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Power Distribution Unit (PDU) & associated network management cards, & Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) units & associated network management cards, into third party Building Management System (BMS) watchdogs for remote monitoring.

Qualifications

Option 1

60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design

including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting (Storage Management)

Option 2

-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems;

AND 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design

including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting (Storage Management)

Option 3

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems;

AND 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current it policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design

including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting (Storage Management)

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

This position is essential, meaning the duties this job performs are critical to the continued operations of the Ohio Department of Public Safety during a public safety emergency (OAC 123: 1-46-01 & DAS Directive HR-D-11). This position will be required to report for duty during any public safety emergency.
