Job Summary

The Line Lead is responsible for increasing operational efficiency, company profitability and customer satisfaction by setting up and operating a production line from raw material to finished product. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

• 2nd Shift Hours: 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m., with availability to work overtime as needed.

Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Prepares production equipment for operation by making equipment setup adjustments, assisting with equipment changeovers
• Maintains quality standards and customer specifications by conducting first-piece and in-process inspection; completing production control charts; analyzing recordings and making equipment adjustments
• Helps train others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures
• Maintains production line operation by solving production process problems; making equipment adjustments; reporting production and quality data; reporting decisions made; referring questions to the supervisor
• Maintains production operations by following policies and procedures (equipment, raw and in-process materials, and finished goods); reporting needed changes
• Ensures operation of equipment by following preventative maintenance policies and procedures; reporting needed changes and repairs
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed through cooperation with team members and acceptance of re-assignments as directed by supervisors
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a team, line lead or supervisory position within an industrial and/or distribution environment
• 1+ years' experience in a metal service center
• High School diploma or GED; or one to 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, instruct, and guide others
• Superior problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Ability to effectively communicate with people
• Ability to read and interpret data and draw valid conclusions
