Job Description

The Leadership and Learning Facilitator is a senior individual contributor responsible for the delivery of high-impact learning experiences aligned to enterprise leadership and talent priorities. Operating at an expert level, this role brings deep facilitation expertise, strong business insight, and high interpersonal effectiveness to enable enterprise leaders and employees to build critical capabilities and adopt core talent practices.

This role focuses primarily on facilitation delivery and learning consultation, serving as a trusted partner to Talent/HR Business Partners and business leaders. The facilitator adapts and delivers enterprise programs across virtual and in-person environments, consults on learning needs and implementation approaches, and ensures learning experiences are credible, consistent, and aligned to organizational goals.

The Leadership and Learning Facilitator works with a high degree of independence, applies sound judgment in complex situations, and operates as a visible representative of the Talent Development function.

Location: This will be a hybrid opportunity with a requirement to be onsite at least 2 days a week at our office in Westbrook, ME

Key Responsibilities:

Learning Facilitation & Delivery

• Deliver enterprise leadership, professional skills, and talent practice learning programs (virtual and in-person) with a consistently high standard of quality and learner engagement.

• Facilitate complex, sensitive, or high-stakes learning experiences with credibility, professionalism, and emotional composure, particularly when learners challenge, disengage or do not align in the moment.
• Adapt existing learning content and experiences to meet audience needs, cultural context, and regional or business-specific considerations while maintaining enterprise intent.
• Model human-centered facilitation practices that support psychological safety, learning transfer, and behavior change.

Learning Consultation & Stakeholder Partnership
• Partner with Talent Development stakeholders, HR Business Partners, people leaders, and functional leaders to understand capability needs, clarify learning objectives, and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
• Act as a consultative advisor during learning implementation, helping leaders and teams translate enterprise learning into practical, on-the-job application.
• Provide informed guidance on effective implementation of learning programs and talent practices (e.g., performance management, goal setting, development planning).
• Navigate organizational dynamics with discretion and judgment, knowing when to escalate issues or involve additional stakeholders.

Program Quality & Continuous Improvement
• Gather learner feedback and stakeholder input to assess facilitation effectiveness, identify patterns across sessions, and inform expert judgment about learning impact and quality.
• Share insights, patterns, and recommendations with Talent Development partners to inform ongoing improvement of learning experiences.
• Contribute to the consistent application of facilitation standards, tools, and best practices across programs.

• Maintain current knowledge of facilitation methodologies, adult learning principles, and leadership development practices.
• Leverage technology effectively to enhance virtual and hybrid learning experiences.

• Advanced facilitation capability across diverse audiences, levels, and delivery modalities.
• Demonstrated ability to consult, influence, and build credibility with senior leaders and HR partners.
• Strong ability to manage group dynamics, handle challenging interactions, and facilitate complex topics.

Professional & Business Capabilities
• Operates independently with sound judgment and decision quality.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• High organizational, interpersonal, and stakeholder savvy.
• Comfortable managing ambiguity and balancing multiple stakeholder needs.

Technology & Digital Fluency
• Highly proficient in Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Copilot).
• Experience using virtual facilitation platforms and learning technologies to drive engagement.

Success Characteristics
This role operates at the Expert Level Contributor standard. That means the facilitator is expected to:
• Work independently with sound judgment in complex, ambiguous, and high-visibility situations.
• Serve as a quality benchmark and informal authority for facilitation excellence.
• Influence enterprise outcomes through credibility, emotional regulation, and trust, not positional power.
• Separate personal investment in learning quality from the need for immediate leader alignment.
• Reset quickly after challenging engagements and sustain performance across successive high-stakes sessions.

Experience & Education
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required;
• Typically 6–10 years of progressive experience in learning, facilitation, leadership development, or related fields.
• Experience operating as a senior facilitator or specialist providing consultative support within complex organizations.
