Job Description

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight.

Duties:

  1. Developing and implementing a People Strategy to align people and human resources policies, practices and programs to the organisation’s strategy and business direction.
  2. Providing sound and expert advice to managers on operational people matters, policies, requirements, processes, risks, issues and trends to keep managers informed and supported including coaching managers in relation to change management, engagement, workforce planning, resolution of work-related issues, employee relationships and industrial matters. Coach and support leaders to manage the performance and development of their people.
  3. Providing sound and expert advice to staff on People and Culture related matters, policies, requirements, processes, and issues and trends to keep Corporation staff informed and supported in relation to change management, resolution of work-related issues, employee relationships and general Human Resource advice. Support staff in their areas of professional development.
  4. Contribute to the implementation of the Corporation’s policies, procedures, programs and frameworks, and liaise with relevant organisations as part of current Service Level Agreement/s in place to support People and Culture related systems, processes and policy implementation to ensure work practices are aligned to business needs and deliver compliance with current obligations.
  5. Provide advice and expertise to the Executive Team on the implementation of change and resourcing requirements and support the recruitment and onboarding of staff, as well as exit processes.
  6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders including departmental People and Culture employees and their representatives, employment service providers and to be the conduit between the Corporation and the State Growth for the management of the HR components of the SLA between both parties.
  7. Maintain an awareness of current issues, practices, requirements, reporting and compliance in the human resources area generally.
  8. Perform other duties at the classification level that are within the employee’s competence and training.
  9. Actively participate as part of our team, maintaining an understanding of current work and priorities, the operating environment and contributing to a safe, productive and supportive team environment.

Desirable Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in an advisory, business partner or similar Human Resources based role.
