Position: Team Coordinator
Location: Near the oceanfront in Virginia Beach
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Status: Exempt, Salaried | On‑Call Leadership Role

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will serve as the primary supervisor for your team. You’ll have full responsibility for team oversight, on‑call decision‑making, and day‑to‑day leadership of the team supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
We’re looking for an energetic, compassionate, and motivated professional who is ready to lead independently, support staff, and ensure high‑quality services in an apartment-based residential setting.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary supervisor for a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
- Provide independent leadership for your assigned homes and staff
- Coach, mentor, and support DSPs while fostering a positive, accountable team culture
- Lead team meetings, set expectations, and address performance concerns
- Ensure quality assurance, documentation, and service excellence
- Model best practices by assisting individuals with daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc.)
- Support the medical, financial, and recreational needs of individuals receiving services.
- Provide on‑call leadership, including responding to after‑hours needs, emergencies, and crises.
- Ensure compliance with Medicaid waiver requirements and licensure standards.s
- Manage scheduling, payroll, and billing with accuracy and attention to detail.
- This is an exempt, salaried position and may require work beyond standard business hours.s
- On‑call responsibility is required.
- The Team Coordinator is expected to operate independently and make sound decisions when leadership backup is not immediately available.

Qualifications
Qualifications – What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Experience in human services or a related field (1+ year preferred in a supervisory or leadership role)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Demonstrated ability to support individuals with developmental disabilities in community or residential settings
- Open to person-centered practices and daily living support strategies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, remain calm under pressure, and respond to crisis situations professionally
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
- Comfortable using technology for documentation, scheduling, and communication (e.g., basic computer skills, electronic records)
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the job (e.g., lifting, standing, walking, assisting individuals)
- Must meet state and agency background check requirements
