Job Description

You will work as a Lead Web Frontend Engineer within the Digital Channels Ecosystem of Deutsche Bank Private Bank Germany and as part of the Web Shell App team. The team owns core frontend platform capabilities used across Deutsche Bank's Online Banking channels and customer-facing digital services. You will provide technical leadership for frontend architecture and engineering standards, drive reusable platform capabilities, and ensure that scalability, security, availability, and maintainability requirements are consistently met across multiple agile delivery teams. As a senior technical expert, you will actively contribute to the implementation of complex frontend solutions while guiding engineering decisions across organizational boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of shared Angular frontend capabilities, complex frontend solutions, and reusable platform components that serve as the foundation for customer-facing digital banking services and are consumed by multiple Online Banking development teams.
• Define and enforce frontend architecture principles, coding standards, security requirements, and engineering best practices, while performing design and code reviews and acting as the technical authority for complex frontend implementation decisions.
• Continuously evaluate new Angular and web platform capabilities and drive their adoption where they provide measurable business or technical value.
• Take ownership of the quality, stability, maintainability, and long-term evolution of customer-facing frontend platform components.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to frontend engineers, support agile teams in resolving complex technical challenges, and drive technical excellence across the frontend engineering landscape.

Skills

• Expert knowledge in Single Page Application design and development with Angular and TypeScript, including integration with RESTful APIs in cloud environments, as well as modern Angular architecture patterns such as standalone components, Signals, dependency injection, lazy loading and state management concepts.
• Proven strong experience designing scalable and maintainable frontend architectures for large-scale enterprises across the full SDLC process, leading frontend engineering activities across multiple development teams, and driving architectural decisions in complex enterprise environments.
• Solid experience working with Nx monorepos in large enterprises, frontend build tooling, NPM package management, Node.js-based development environments, shared platform capabilities, and integration of third-party solutions such as content management systems, analytics platforms, or similar enterprise products.
• Strong knowledge in the Google Cloud Platform related to operating and maintaining frontend applications at scale, combined with advanced practical experience in responsive web application development using HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, accessibility standards within WCAG 2 AA Compliance, and frontend security best practices.
• Ability to work effectively within agile delivery teams while independently driving technical topics across team boundaries and influencing architectural decisions in a complex enterprise environment, with strong analytical and communication skills, high degree of independence and initiative, and proficiency in spoken and written English.
