Northside Animal Hospital in Columbus, Georgia is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT) to join our growing, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital. This is a full-time leadership opportunity for a skilled licensed veterinary technician who is passionate about patient care, team development, and advancing veterinary medicine.
We are a busy, five-doctor small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive services, including preventative care, urgent care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, ultrasound, and hospitalization Our AAHA accreditation reflects our commitment to delivering the highest standard of veterinary care.

As the Lead Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in overseeing daily technician operations, mentoring support staff, and partnering with veterinarians to ensure exceptional patient care. This role is ideal for a veterinary technician leader who enjoys coaching others, improving processes, and working in a fast-paced, high-quality clinical environment.
Lead, mentor, and support a team of veterinary technicians and assistants
Manage technician and assistant schedules and workflow
Conduct regular team check-ins and serve as a liaison between staff and leadership
Assist veterinarians with exams, surgery, urgent care cases, and advanced diagnostics
Perform technical skills including anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, dentistry, and ultrasound
Oversee patient care during hospitalization and ensure clear client communication
Develop, implement, and refine clinical protocols and standard operating procedures
Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment
Troubleshoot operational challenges and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and patient outcomes
Active Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT) in Georgia required
Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong technical skills in surgery support, anesthesia, dental procedures, radiology, and laboratory work
Experience in a high-volume, multi-doctor veterinary practice is a plus
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced or urgent care environments
Passion for mentorship, team development, and high-quality veterinary medicine
