
Oak Animal Hospital is a growing, client-focused veterinary practice dedicated to providing high-quality medical care while fostering a supportive, collaborative team environment. We are seeking an experienced Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to help guide our technician team, support doctors, and elevate patient care standards.
The Lead RVT plays a dual role of clinical excellence and team leadership This position supports daily operations, mentors technical staff, ensures compliance with best practices, and works closely with management and veterinarians to maintain efficient workflows and exceptional patient care.
Leadership & Team Support
Lead, mentor, and support RVTs and veterinary assistants
Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing skill development
Promote a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture
Act as a clinical resource and role model on the floor
Clinical Duties
Perform advanced nursing skills including anesthesia monitoring, catheter placement, radiology, laboratory procedures, and dental cleanings
Oversee patient care from intake through discharge
Ensure accurate medical records and client communication
Uphold high standards for patient safety and comfort
Operations & Compliance
Maintain and enforce hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
Assist with inventory management, equipment maintenance, and controlled drug logs
Collaborate with leadership on workflow improvements and quality control
Active RVT/LVT/CVT license in California
Minimum 3–5 years of clinical veterinary experience
Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong anesthesia, dentistry, and technical skills
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
$27-$30/hr DOE
