The pay range is $132,000.00 - $238,000.00

About therole  

As aLeadUXDesigner focusing on design systems,you’llbe at the forefront of Target’s evolving digital experience, shaping it for ourteam membersand contributing to business growth.Our Design System is a multi-platform system used byour stores and supply chain design teamto create engaging and consistent user experiences.Youwill drive the evolution of the Design System, including multi-platform libraries, design tokens, versioning, governance, and accessibility, maximizing user adoption and reusability. You will define and deliver exceptionally high quality, usable design components that drive efficiency and consistency across end-to-end guest and employee facing experiences.

Youwillplay a crucial role in driving theproduct development process, ensuring that our designs align with user needs, businessobjectives, and technological feasibility.This role will join a team of passionate designers creating components and supporting partners across Target in creating robust, intuitive, and accessible experiences for our guests and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Partner and collaborate with a cross functional team of designers, developers and product managers across teams toidentify, prioritize, and createnew designcomponents that are reusable,responsiveand accessible,leveragingthese relationships to drive adoption of the design system

  • Drive the creation of components and patterns in Figma, ensuringcomponentconsistency with code, Information Architecture, tokens alignment, definition of variants, auto-layout, properutilizationof plugins, version control, accessibility, and best practices

  • Ensure the design assets your team createsmaintainsthe highest of quality standards and are thoroughly documented with usage guidelines that connect and resonate with the teams using the design system

  • Collaborate effectively with developers tomaintainand create coded components that align to our design system

  • Foster education, author training resources, and best practices to ensure a top-notch experience forteamsadoptingthe design system

  • Bring the latest insights,best practices and design patterns across industries and platforms

  • Operate comfortably in agile environments within the parameters of sprints, helping the team prioritize work considering needs,resourcesand capacity

  • Guidethe design process, mentor, and coach other designers

  • Hold designsystemswork to a high standard of craft, including accessibility, user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design

  • Build a network of relationships to enable your vision in service of our guestand team memberexperiences

About you:  

  • 6+ years ofexperiencein design systemsas a senior or leadUXdesigner with a strong portfolioshowcasingsuccessful designworkbuilding complex products with reusable components

  • Advanced understanding of design systems and an ability to communicate its value to a large, complex organizations, including

  • Advanced knowledge of Figma designing, governing, and scalingcomponentlibraries

  • Ability to influence strategy by engaging and collaborating effectively with design, product, and engineering partners

  • Strong communicationand storytelling skills, including the ability to articulate design decisions with logic and data

  • An ability to evaluate and manage competing priorities and timelines

  • Fluency in best practices for responsive design, accessible web,iosand android interfaces that meet WCAG Accessibility standards

  • Fluency in best practices and process around governance and maintenance of large-scale design systems

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performedboth onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
