Lead Therapist – CAMHS & Eating Disorders

Department: Allied Health Professionals and Psychology

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Priory Hospital Roehampton

Compensation: £53,560 / year

Priory Hospital Roehampton are looking for a Therapy lead to join the team on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week. This will be working within the inpatient service.

Priory Hospital Roehampton, a registered hospital in London, is a welcoming and highly respected rehab facility, offering expert mental health and addiction treatment. We support people facing a wide range of mental health challenges, providing specialist care for depression, anxiety and addictions. We also provide outpatient support for adults with eating disorders.

What you'll be doing

This is a leadership role with significant line management and operational responsibility. The post holder will oversee a team of therapists, providing clear leadership, performance management, supervision, oversight and workforce planning. A strong focus on operational efficiency, service delivery, and budget awareness is essential. We are seeking an experienced leader with well-developed management skills, the ability to drive performance, and a proactive approach to service improvement and team development.
  • Provide clinical and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary CAMHS and Eating Disorder outpatient therapy team, reporting to the Therapy Business Manager.
  • Oversee workforce planning, caseload allocation, performance management, and service delivery to ensure safe, effective, and timely care.
  • Lead on clinical risk management, safeguarding, governance compliance, and quality assurance processes, including audit and outcome monitoring.
  • Drive service development and continuous improvement initiatives in line with regulatory standards and organisational objectives.
  • Foster a supportive, accountable team culture through supervision, professional development, and collaborative working across hospital services to ensure integrated care pathways and continuity of care.

What you'll bring to the role

The post holder will be a Registered HCPC healthcare professional and/or accredited psychotherapist (BACP/BABCP/UKCP) with proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a diverse therapy team. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of therapy roles within mental health settings and have experience in clinical supervision, staff retention, and effective people management. A calm and supportive approach in high-pressure environments is essential. The role requires commercial and business awareness, including experience in cost management and budgeting (P&L), alongside the flexibility to respond to changing service and organisational needs. Line management experience is desirable, and knowledge of Priory people-management policies would be advantageous. A clear focus on business development and innovation to maximise service opportunities is also required.
