About TI

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) is a global semiconductor design and manufacturing company that develops analog ICs and embedded processors. By employing the world’s brightest minds, TI creates innovations that shape the future of technology. TI is helping about 100,000 customers transform the future, today. We’re committed to building a better future – from the responsible manufacturing of our semiconductors, to caring for our employees, to giving back inside our communities and developing great minds. In TI’s Power Products, we’re developing breakthrough technology to power the world’s future innovations as well. Put your talent to work with us – change the world, love your job!

Why Multiphase Processor Power (MPP):

Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and data centers are just a few of the trends driving the need for high-current multiphase switching power in the Enterprise market. The Multiphase Processor Power product line is focused on bringing to market the multiphase controllers and Smart Power Stage (driver plus power FETs with integrated sensing) solutions for enterprise computing and other ASICs that are power hungry and require very high currents (can be 1000A+). The MPP team actively collaborates with TI’s advanced technology, packaging and research and development teams to deliver the highest power density solutions for the power level.

About the job

At TI, Test Engineers leverage strong technical knowledge working hands-on to bring differentiated power solutions to our customers globally. Test Engineers also partner closely with Design, Test, Systems and Application engineers to ensure our power solutions are both meeting customer and market requirements and are cost-wise optimized. The MPP product line is working on complex multiphase buck controllers and the world’s breakthrough technology to develop the high-power density power stages.

About the role and team:

  • Work with the design team to understand design specifications and system challenges
  • Generate test plan, create test and char program, design ATE hardware interface boards
  • Debug characterizing silicon on ATE, and correlate results with bench data
  • Analyze silicon results, supporting failure analysis tasks
  • Perform statistical analysis of yield fallout, debug and fix yield issues; optimize test time
  • Work with the production team to release products to volume production
  • Test strategy definition and implementation for multiphase controller and power stage devices
  • Silicon qualification, including the qual program development
  • Comprehensive device debugging, design validation, and failure analysis
  • Drive for robust and cost-effective test solutions while being accountable for product quality
  • Work with the design and Firmware team to support customer needs, implement custom features in FW. Close collaboration with FW and validation teams to understand the device issues and bugs and find the FW level workaround for the fix.
  • Engaging with customers with application engineers, to help them understand the device better, help to fix the issues, and provide modifications if any tweaks are needed. This is done in collaboration with Application engineers.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study
  • 5+ years of relevant experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience: Greater than 5 years
  • Strong fundamentals in electronics: RC networks, operational amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, DC-DC buck converters
  • Experience to define the test flow, test list and plan to create a test-architecture strategy.
  • Experience in silicon bring-up and debug, and characterization on the Eagle tester platform
  • Expertise in schematic design for Hardware/Device Interface Board (HIB/DIB)
  • Experience in writing test plan and designing test cases
  • Should be able to lead a project from planning to production release
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
