The hourly range for this role is $30 - $34. The hourly rate may vary within the range based on factors such as location of the role, and a candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Working out of our Commercial Markets Division, the Lead Technician role is critical to the day-to-day management of our crews and projects, including but not limited to electrical functions testing, installation, pinpointing, commissioning, and troubleshooting EV and electrical components; keeping the jobsite organized and running smoothly. This position requires a high attention to detail and accuracy as well as very clear and proactive communication skills, both with internal teammates as well as safety professionals. All members of our team are expected to work together in a safe, positive, respectful, and professional manner.

Lead Tech I Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical/EV installation work and provide direction and site supervision to installation team.
  • Verify material requirements and develop installation plan for project and communicate the plan to all technicians and installers.
  • Field installation of project scope ensuring all work is performed according to electrical code and is completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular and timely project information to the operations team regarding project progress, installation variance, manpower resources, equipment rental, and differences in contract project scope.
  • Obtain an understanding of project scope of work from supervisor including any available plans or documents.
  • Close out projects by conducting quality assurance and prevention, jurisdiction inspections, and any final verification of scope and quality.
  • Responsible for all aspects of lighting service including lamp, ballast replacement and troubleshooting.
  • Install, replace, or repair EV charging stations including all electrical work and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Perform EV charging audits as required.
  • Must be able to perform job tasks with no supervision.
  • Adhere to safety policy as well as rules and regulations.

Lead Tech I Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years of Commercial and/or Residential electrical experience beyond lighting installation
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • NRLT or CSLT is a plus
  • Journeyman License is a plus
  • Adhere to safety policy as well as rules and regulations
  • Maintain active driver’s license with a clean record and have reliable transportation to report to various job locations

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Able to move or lift 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Able to withstand varying temperatures typical in an outdoor environment
  • Position spends significant amount of time sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Position may require climbing of ladders and/or working from heights
  • Position requires dexterity for handling materials and operating equipment
  • Position requires 80% travel to regional projects and to other states, overnight and extended periods of time, based on business needs.
  • Position may also involve prolonged periods of driving and being on the road.
  • Ability to comply with and wear required Protective Personal Equipment (PPE).
