Job Description

Responsible for Outage execution, Overhauling of Generator and Auxiliaries at site with Safety-Quality-Delivery-Cost KPIS.
Outage Planning before outage starts , Daily Overhauling activities planning, ensuring all site activities as per plan by achieving Safety-Quality-Delivery KPIs. Close-Out and Experience feedback_ Lesson Learnt for Generator of
OEM fleets as well as Other OEM fleets based on planned & forecasted outages.
The Lead Technical Field Advisor, is a key role in the SPPS Team where you will have significant opportunity to demonstrate your strategic, creative problem-solving, technical, communication and process skills in a complex, global and fast-paced environment.

Candidate will be required to support successful execution of the SPS-Geno project assigned to him as well as other team members. He/she will have to work with cross-functional resources/teams to deliver results, lead long-term planning for the successful site execution of the project, manage complex issues including dimensional measurement of the parts & developing hand sketch to support Engineering Function.

  • Shall be accountab le for Generator Outa ge e xecution(Overhauling /Servicing ) , at Site for all outag es of Generators and Auxiliaries in F ossil, Nuc lear & Combined cy cle Po wer p lants as well ST Retrof it i nstallation pl anning & execution.
  • Shall be accountab le for co-ordina tion with d iversified teams of Field En gineers, craftlabours a gency as well as other supp ort agen cies in vol vi ng plan nin g, Execution, E HS, Q ua lity, Producti vity, OTD .
  • Shall be d eliver ing sched uled outa ge cy cles as per defin ed timeli nes & or ga ni zation al stand ar ds with completi on of t he assi gnm ent within basel ines agreed with the Busin ess & custom ers
  • Shall be resp onsible for the p roductivity with reasonab le for ecast a nd shall be r esp ons ible for ali gni ng resour ces planni ng and r es ol ving issues to en su re su ccessful e xecution.
  • Shall be resp onsible for ope rational commitments, S te am Po wer serv ice st anda rds, plann ing & imple menti ng eff ecti ve control m easu re to m eet Zero EHS de viati on w.rt. acci dent s, injuries etc.
  • Shall be resp onsible for ali gni ng with Generator Pr oduct Se rv ice t eam f or r eq uirement of Parts and Sp ar es related to outa ge e xecution requirement.
  • Shall be resp onsible for launching Custom er S atisfaction Su rvey in ali gnment with Contract Fulf ilment team and ma king i mpr ov ement acti ons pla n
  • Shall be resp onsible for or gani zi ng on-site t rouble sh ooting for Generator o perational issues in con sul tation with ST Product Se rv ices t eam.
  • Shall unde rstand v ar ious Generator fleet technolo gie s, main te nance / rectif icati on/ inst al lati on p ractices as well as Generator product Technical Infor mat ion Letter (T IL) from Prod uct Centers and put the less on l ear nt to practi ce v ia C ust omer S erv ice L eader / Serv ice Man ager.

Qualification/Experience

  • Technical degree/Diploma from a government accredited university/Institute/Institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in turbo generator mechanical assembly/disassembly, stator and field rewind and repairs.
  • Should have strong technical background and hands-on experience in performing visual inspections, electrical tests, field and stator rewinds, and other general repairs on turbo-Generators of different OEMs.
  • Should possess strong technical skills to read & interpret technical drawings, procedures, quality, and inspection documentation.
  • Should be conversant with latest generator test methodologies and interpretation/analysis of test results and be able to recognize, predict and document potential failures.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Should possess skills to guide craft labour and winders during overhauls, rewinds, repairs and inspections.
  • Clear thinker with an ability to focus on the “critical few” issue/priorities. Able to communicate messages clearly and concisely.
  • Should be able to prepare outage scheduling, manpower & tooling requirement.
  • Should possess good interpersonal skills to interface with customer, subcontractors and team members.
  • Should be willing to mobilize to project site frequently and at short notice.
  • Should be willing to stay at project site for long periods.
  • Extensive domestic and/or international travel to projects for various field assignments is required.
  • Should possess good English/ Hindi communication skills
