Lead Tech, Composite Repair-18523

The Composite Lead Technician is responsible to lead and coordinate manufacturing production.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Serve as a Leader of assigned staff with responsibilities of assigning work, monitoring of performance, and resolution of employee related issues regarding assigned staff.

  • Monitor performance and assist with the completion of proficiency appraisals of assigned work group

  • Recommend disciplinary actions required within assigned work group, in compliance with established guidelines.

  • Ensure accountability to conduct themselves within the guidelines of company policies, work rules, and regulatory regulation

  • Assist Supervisor / Manager with the evaluation of vacation requests against scheduling/manpower requirements and responding accordingly.

  • Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self and others to ensure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the Company Safety Manual.

  • Communicate problem areas and resolve conflicts and discrepancies.

  • Attend required meetings to discuss critical path areas, planned work, critical parts, and overall program status.

  • Interact with Workload Planners to set and prioritize daily activities and product delivery schedule

  • Assign the proper labor to perform work assignments.

  • Perform daily area inspection to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

  • Develop technical processes for fabricating components using engineering specifications as a guideline.

  • Perform periodic toolbox inspections.

  • Ensure adherence to all Company quality and FAA regulations.

  • Participate in program investigations to help determine root causes and develop corrective actions.

  • Assist with accident investigations and follow-up

  • Perform periodic in-process audits of assigned crew.

  • Monitor safety during work shift.

  • Manage operations in the most effective manner, eliminating waste and improving productivity as well as maintaining a lean manufacturing environment.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful in this role.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in Technical or related scientific field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of aerospace or related industry experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing/production/maintenance environment.

  • Basic computer skills for use in typical office software applications.

  • Must have ability to read and comprehend blueprints, IPC's, Engineering Orders and other technical data.

  • Must possess good oral, written, and organizational skills.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Must be available for overtime and/or work flexible schedule as job requirements dictate.
