Part-Time Before and After School Programs

Sayreville, New Jersey

Teacher Assistants: $17–$18 per hour

Lead Teachers: $18–$21 per hour

Leading Edge Before & After School creates safe, engaging spaces where children can learn, connect, and have fun outside the school day. We are looking for dependable, enthusiastic team members who enjoy working with children and want meaningful part-time work that fits around school, family, or another job.

We are currently hiring Lead Teachers and Teacher Assistants for our before and after school programs in Sayreville.

Choose the Role That Fits You

Lead Teacher | $18–$21 per hour

Lead Teachers help guide the daily program experience, lead activities, support their team, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students.

This position is best suited for candidates with relevant experience who can consistently work both before and after school, Monday through Friday.

Teacher Assistant | $17–$18 per hour

Teacher Assistants work alongside Lead Teachers to facilitate activities, supervise students, and keep the program running smoothly.

This position offers more scheduling flexibility for candidates who can consistently work before school, after school, or both at least three weekdays per week.

Exact program hours vary by school location.

What You'll Do

• Build positive relationships with students, families, school partners, and coworkers
• Help lead games, enrichment activities, creative projects, and homework support
• Support safe student arrival, dismissal, transitions, and supervision
• Create an inclusive environment where every child feels welcome
• Work as part of a dependable and collaborative program team

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with groups of PreK through middle-school-aged children
• Experience in a school, childcare program, camp, recreation program, youth organization, or similar setting
• Consistent availability during before-school and/or after-school program hours
• Strong attendance, punctuality, communication, and teamwork
• The ability to complete required New Jersey childcare onboarding, training, and documentation
• Reliable transportation to and from the assigned Sayreville school location
• Candidates who meet the age and qualification requirements for their selected position

Invited candidates will have the opportunity to:

• See a Leading Edge program in action
• Meet members of our Sayreville team
• Learn more about our available positions
• Interview on the spot

This is an invite-only event. After our Talent Acquisition team reviews your application, selected candidates will receive a private preregistration link by email.

Preregistration is required because the event will take place while our program is operating. Please do not forward the registration link. Detailed arrival, check-in, and location instructions will be emailed to registered attendees.

$50 Digital Visa Gift Card Raffle

$150 Sign-On Bonus

Individuals hired through this recruitment may be eligible for a $150 sign-on bonus, scheduled to be paid in the paycheck before winter break.

To receive the bonus, the employee must remain actively employed and in good standing through the payout date. Good standing includes satisfactory attendance, punctuality, performance, conduct, onboarding, training, and completion of all required employment documentation. Additional eligibility terms may apply.
