Finger Lakes Health is looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to join the Jim Dooley Early Learning Center!

Full-Time | Day/Eve Shift | No Weekends | No Holidays

$17.57 per hour

What You'll Do

As a Lead Teacher, you will take an active leadership role in creating and implementing an engaging, developmentally appropriate early childhood education program.

You'll:

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, learner-centered curriculum and activities
  • Create a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Work closely with Teachers and Teaching Assistants to provide high-quality care and education
  • Use your knowledge of each child's interests, skills, relationships, and developmental needs to personalize learning opportunities
  • Monitor and document children's developmental progress using appropriate assessment tools
  • Mentor and guide Teaching Assistants while helping develop plans for their professional growth and success
  • Maintain required classroom documentation and participate in meetings
  • Conduct parent/teacher conferences and provide support to families
  • Collaborate with other Lead Teachers to evaluate and improve the Center's educational programs
  • Facilitate staff meetings and training sessions
  • Participate in center-wide quality improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

Minimum Education:

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field OR
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 years of full-time classroom teaching experience
  • Program-specific experience required for Infant & Toddler Lead Teacher positions
