Responsibilities:
Position purpose:
The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and spiritually enriching learning environment for young children. In addition to providing academic, social, and emotional development, the Lead Teacher will integrate faith-based principles into the curriculum, helping children grow in their understanding of Christian values and teachings. This role involves planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate and faith-centered curriculum, overseeing classroom management, and guiding support staff. The Lead Teacher will foster a love for learning while nurturing children's spiritual growth, maintaining open communication with parents and caregivers to support children’s development at home and in the classroom. Collaboration with staff members, commitment to professional development, and dedication to a Christ-centered approach to education are key to this role. This position reports to the Director of The Little Bruins Preschool.

Required EducationMust meet the minimum educational and experience requirements for Child Care Center teachers as mandated by state regulation. Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE preferred. Currently holds or is eligible to hold Early Childhood Licensure in TN. Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Required ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of teaching experience preferred, preferably in a lead teaching role. 3 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting. Experience with the Creative Curriculum preferred. Experience with faith-based children’s programming preferred.
The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
