We are hiring a Lead Tape Operator in our Elyria, Ohio (Sugar) Facility
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 3pm-11:15pm
What We Offer:
The Lead Tape Operator is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of tape-producing machinery, helping ensure high-quality product from the beginning of the weaving process through completion on the reel. This role assists Tape Associates, supports training of team members, helps troubleshoot equipment and production issues, and may step in to support supervisor responsibilities as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up, operate, and monitor looms, printers, and related tape-producing equipment to maintain safe, continuous, and efficient production.
Monitor operating parameters and make necessary adjustments to looms, printers, or production equipment to support quality and output expectations.
Ensure tape is marked with the proper print line and verify print quality, measurement markings, product appearance, and other quality requirements.
Check and verify proper weaving of weft and lockstitch into the product, and monitor applicable fluid or lube levels.
Load and maintain the required amount of raw materials on reels and demonstrate working knowledge of commonly used yarn types and applications.
Assist Tape Associates, train new team members, and provide guidance on equipment use, work instructions, safety expectations, and quality standards.
Perform minor equipment maintenance, troubleshoot production issues, and report unsafe conditions or broken equipment to the supervisor or management team.
Document shift activity, downtime, production numbers, quality checks, and other required production information accurately and timely.
Support inner-plant truck pulling, packaging, reel building, and other production activities needed to ensure product availability for the next shift.
Actively participate in all plant activities including cleaning, training, safety, continuous improvement, 5S etc.
EXPERIENCE & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to speak, read and write English fluently, Bilingual is a Plus!
At least 2 years of equipment/machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
Physical requirements:
Stand and walk long distances on the plant floor for 8 to 12 hours on a shift.
Occasional climbing, reaching, squatting and bending to operate and fix equipment
Work in an environment that may be exposed to external elements (hot and cold temperatures) and occasional loud noises.
Capable of wearing required PPE (eyes, ears, feet, etc) for entire shift.
Able to lift and carry, push/pull up to 50lbs multiple times per shift
“The compensation for this position is typically $49,000-$90,500/yr The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to jobrelated knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
