Job Description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Lead, Systems Integration is responsible for the architecture, delivery, and day-to-day operations of all integration solutions that connect BluSky's core business platforms and technology ecosystem. The Lead is also responsible for managing a hybrid team of onshore and nearshore integration engineers and working closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable, reliable integration solutions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Integration Architecture & Delivery

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of integration solutions across BluSky's technology ecosystem.
  • Architect and implement API and middleware integrations using REST, SOAP, and enterprise service bus (ESB) patterns.
  • Own and operate integration workflows built on Azure Integration Services, including Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
  • Define and enforce standards and best practices for integration development, testing, documentation, and monitoring.
  • Ensure high availability, observability, and performance of all integration pipelines.
  • Drive incident response and root cause analysis for integration-related issues.
  • Partner with cloud infrastructure and security teams to align integrations with organizational standards on Azure.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a hybrid team of 2--5 onshore and nearshore integration engineers.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance on architecture and design decisions.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture across time zones, aligned with BluSky's core values.
  • Adheres to all company Best Practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with product, operations, and IT stakeholders to gather and document integration requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical integration designs and present solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Build rapport with internal customers and instill confidence in the integration team's capabilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position does not have direct reports

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6+ years of hands-on systems integration or software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years in a tech lead or engineering lead capacity, including direct people management or strong mentorship.
    • Experience leading hybrid teams that include onshore and nearshore members across multiple time zones.
    • Deep experience with Azure Integration Services -- Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, and/or Event Grid.
    • Strong proficiency with API design and integration patterns: REST, SOAP, ESB, and event-driven architecture.
    • Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, ITSM, or field service management tools.
    • Solid understanding of data transformation, error handling, and retry strategies in distributed systems.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-204, AZ-305) preferred.
    • Experience with iPaaS tools such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Workato a plus.
    • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for integration deployments a plus.

EDUCATION:

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.

TRAVEL:

Ability to travel (including air travel) approximately 25% of the time.
