Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Systems Engineer is a role that involves supporting various systems engineering activities throughout the whole life cycle.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Systems Engineering function across key disciplines including Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Interface Management, Verification & Validation, and Assurance
  • Collaborating with the Systems Engineering team to deliver systems engineering outcomes aligned with project objectives
  • Engaging with client stakeholders (technical and non-technical) both remotely and on-site, as required
  • Authoring, reviewing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation and engineering processes
  • Applying systems engineering practices and standards to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across projects
  • Contributing to lifecycle traceability and reporting to support system certification and delivery

You are expected to be able to work on your own and as part of a team liaising with engineers of different disciplines, to ensure a complete and unified design.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Systems Engineering with a strong understanding of the V-Model and associated processes/lifecycles
  • Degree qualified in STEM or equivalent engineering experience supported by relevant qualifications
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), or working towards chartership
  • Eligible for an Australian Security Clearance
  • Experience in regulated, safety-critical industries such as Defence, Rail, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and reviewing technical documentation
  • Experience in decomposing, developing, and managing system-level requirements
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering practices, frameworks, and tools (e.g. SEBoK, INCOSE practices, MBSE, requirements management tools)

Preferred Additional Qualifications / Skills

  • Awareness of project delivery and coordination practices
  • HAZOP/HAZID knowledge.
  • Understanding of safety-critical systems and assurance processes
  • Experience contributing to safety case documentation

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a security vetting process and offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted.
