Are you someone who is interested in a leadership role that supports the mission of Goodwill? Goodwill of the Heartland is looking for a Lead Supported Community Living Specialist. A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, or a related field is required, as is one year of work in a related field.
The Lead Supported Community Living Specialist supervises a team of six or more direct support professionals who provide supported living skills training to program participants. The primary objective of this role is to assist individuals with barriers to independence in developing personalized goals and implementing them in their day-to-day lives to help foster their independence and community integration.
This role includes creating weekly schedules for a team to ensure that there is comprehensive support for over sixty program participants. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing their own caseload of participants, which can include providing transportation as needed. Other responsibilities include managing the department budget, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of program resources, and cultivating a positive working relationship with referral sources and funders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for professional staff service provision that results in attainment of positive outcomes/benefits by persons receiving services.
- Enlist and develop qualified staff.
- Develop and implement short and long range goals for the SCL Program.
- Assist with the development of departmental budgets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies and funders.

- Identify and maintain current information about community resources that may benefit program participants.
- Identify treatment and service needs of each individual served.
- Develop treatment plan. Monitor and evaluate progress of the treatment plan, assisting and facilitating as appropriate, overseeing caseload of 20 clients.
- Assist with multi-disciplinary college and university student training.
- Monitor and control expenses and ensure efficiency in rehabilitation services, including billable hours and client funding.
- Maintain current and accurate case notes, ISP’s and progress notes.
- Provide transportation to participants as needed.
- Assess safety needs of program participants, developing and implementing safety plans.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, or related field required, and one year of work experience in social work, rehabilitation, case management, or related field required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.
- Successful completion of a criminal, DHS, and vehicle background check.
- 18 years of age or older.
The Lead Supported Community Living Specialist has a starting pay range between $23.04 and $25.34, with some flexibility for education and experience. The schedule is 40 hours a week, hours typically scheduled Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm.
