Job Description

Join a global, cross functional engineering team dedicated to developing next generation CT imaging systems using advanced design tools and cutting edge engineering methodologies. As the “Integrator”, you will lead key elements of the multi generational product roadmap and guide execution of product specific development plans, ensuring cohesive system performance across hardware, software, and subsystems.

Essential Responsibilities

This Project Manager/Integration leader drives and is accountable for operational excellence of assigned designs, projects, and rigor, with duties including design, project reviews, feasibility analysis, cost benefit analysis, prioritization, resourcing, initiation, execution, and closure. This role requires the person to “wear many hats” as they will interact with various other cross-functional teams: the program, service, manufacturing, and design engineering. This role allows a person to be a design engineer, project manager and leader simultaneously. We are looking for a well-rounded Engineer, that can execute on a variety of tasks (some fun, some mundane) as part on this super-awesome, fun-tastic team.

The Project Manager/ Integration leader is responsible for, but not limited to:

1) Building an overall project plan for a subsystem

2) Leading a group of peers- Driving day-to-day execution ensuring team members execute the aforementioned plan

3) Planning/Maintaining financials- Budget related items and overall subsystem cost

4) Delivery of the subsystem- Culmination of all tasks to deliver on time and within budget

5) Team player- Pitching in to help out with whatever the “Crisis of the days is”

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identifies, plans, and tracks development, integration, reliability, and verification tasks.
  • Identifies and assesses subsystem risks and issues, develops contingency plans, and tracks mitigation.
  • Manage day-to-day subsystem activities.
  • Partners with subsystem technical lead and ensures design rigor is included in plan.
  • Tracks subsystem deliverables
  • Manages subsystem expenses
  • Establishes mechanisms to ensure good communication and execution among all team members
  • Clearly communicates program status, issues, risks, and plans to...management, especially “bad” news

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline.
  • 3 or more years of practical experience in engineering product development. (1-3 design cycles- proto-to-delivery)
  • Project Management Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product leadership and product direction.
  • Demonstrated program/project technical experience in a global environment, including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, planning, scheduling, requirements gathering, risk management, and communication.

Desired Characteristics

  • Mechanical or Electrical Degree
  • Ability to make decisions with limited data, time, resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a strong cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coach and lead internal teams and remote teams.
  • Sense of urgency, desire to make deadlines, attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated project leadership and influencing skills.
  • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task.
  • Working knowledge with flux capacitors.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
  • Experience in an Agile planning environment (Rally, Sticky Notes, etc.)
