About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
  • Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
  • Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
  • Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
  • Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
  • Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Mentor less experienced software engineers
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in technology delivery within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries
  • 5+ years of experience leading end-to-end product or program delivery, including roadmap ownership, backlog management, sprint execution, and release management
  • Familiarity with the Python ecosystem, software development lifecycle, and enterprise engineering practices (technical fluency required; deep hands-on coding is not, but you need to be able to read, review, describe and debug code and make design decisions)
  • 5+ years of experience driving enterprise standards adoption, engineering enablement, or technology governance programs across large organizations
  • 5+ years of experience managing and mentoring global, multi-disciplinary technical teams (engineers, analysts, product owners)
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile methodologies at scale (Scrum, SAFe, Big Room Planning)
  • 5+ years of experience ensuring compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards in an enterprise engineering environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into technical delivery plans and scalable enablement strategies using python.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • BPMN Experience – Certifications, Training and prior knowledge and application of Business Process Model and Notation.
  • SVPG Experience – Certifications, Training and prior knowledge and application of Silicon Valley Product Group (SVPG) Product Operating Model.
  • Experience with AI/ML tools, frameworks, platforms and their application to engineering productivity and analytics enablement.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms and tools (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Teradata, PostgreSQL, Dremio, Google Cloud or similar)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and infrastructure automation (GitHub Actions, Harness, OpenShift)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS, Dremio) or container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Working knowledge of databases such as Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, or Teradata
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent agile certification
  • Experience with AI/ML tools and their application to engineering productivity and enablement.
