Lead AI Platform Engineer is responsible to define, build, and lead the evolution of AGCO’s enterprise AI platform You’ll apply your systems thinking and deep software engineering expertise to accelerate the development and deployment of machine learning and AI capabilities at scale, from smart farming systems to enterprise automation.

You’ll be part of a high-impact team creating an internal developer platform purpose-built for computer vision, GenAI, machine learning workloads. Your work will empower data scientists and engineers to experiment faster, deploy more reliably, and deliver AI solutions that transform agriculture.

Your Impact

  • Own the vision, roadmap, architecture, and governance of enterprise AI platforms.
  • Design and deliver scalable, secure, and reusable AI platform services supporting AI/ML workloads.
  • Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, observability, automation, and platform engineering standards.
  • Partner with product, architecture, security, and business stakeholders to influence AI platform adoption and direction.
  • Improve reliability, security, performance, and cost optimization while mentoring engineers and fostering engineering excellence.

Your Experience & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 10+ years of experience in Platform Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure: strong background in platform engineering, software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems.
  • Proven Leadership in Cloud-Native Platform Architecture and Delivery: demonstrated experience leading the design, architecture, and implementation of large-scale, enterprise-grade cloud-native platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience with AI/ML Platforms and MLOps: hands-on experience building and operating AI/ML, MLOps, or other data-intensive platforms at enterprise scale.
  • Deep Expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD/GitOps: strong technical proficiency in Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), GitOps practices, and CI/CD automation tools such as Argo CD, GitHub Actions, and Cloud Build.
  • Public Cloud and Platform Reliability Engineering: extensive experience with GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure, including cloud networking, IAM, security, observability, scalability, reliability, and operational automation.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience building or operating an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) or platform-as-a-product.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, including model lifecycle management, monitoring, and retraining workflows.
  • Experience with hybrid or edge-to-cloud architectures.
  • Knowledge of IAM, policy-as-code, and enterprise security patterns.
  • Open-source contributions or cross-organizational technical leadership.
