Your Team's Impact

As a Lead Software Engineer within AI Foundry's Data Foundations team, you will play a critical role in building the foundational AI-ready data platform that powers our next generation of investment technology. You will lead the design and development of scalable, resilient systems that ingest, organize, and transform large volumes of financial data and documents, enabling advanced AI, machine learning, and vector-based capabilities across our products. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine deep technical execution with architectural leadership, helping set strategic direction, mentor engineering talent, and deliver the distributed systems that underpin our financial intelligence platform.

What You’II Do

  • Architect and leadthe design and development of large-scale document ingestion and vectorization pipelines for financial content (PDF, HTML, DOCX, etc.).

  • Applycutting-edgeNLP and data processing techniquesto extract, classify, and enrich unstructured data for downstream analytics, retrieval, and AI-powered applications.

  • Drive system reliability and scalability, building distributed, fault-tolerant data systems in a cloud-native environment.

  • Collaboratewith data scientists, AI engineers, and product teams to deliver search, recommendation, and generative AI features within the FactSet product suite.

  • Mentor and coachengineers, promote best practices, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

  • Implement robust testing, validation, and monitoringframeworks to ensure high-quality data outputs and reliable service performance.

  • Contribute to FactSet’s innovation strategyby researching and integrating emerging technologies in LLMs, vector databases, and large-scale document retrieval architectures.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education:B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/ME in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college/university

  • Experience: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with proven successdesigning andmaintainingproduction-grade systems.

  • Strong programming skillsin Python or another OOP language (Java, C#, C++).

  • Demonstrated abilityto design and implement robust, maintainable, and high-performance software.

  • Expertisein distributed systems, retrieval architectures, and scalable data pipelines.

  • Proficiencyin Linux development environments and version control systems (Git, CI/CD).

Good to have Skills

  • Deep knowledge of AI/MLand vectorizationframeworks (e.g., BERT,Sentence Transformers,spaCy, OpenAI embeddings).

  • Experience with vector databases (Elasticsearch,OpenSearch,Pinecone,Weaviate) and information retrieval systems.

  • Familiarity with cloud ecosystems(AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed computation frameworks (Spark, Ray).

  • Experience with financial datasuch as SEC filings, earnings releases, and market research reports.

  • Understanding of modern web technologies(JavaScript, Angular, Vue, HTML5/CSS3).

  • Exposure to MLOpspractices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and continuous deployment for data-intensive applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into practical guidance for cross-functional teams.
