FMA Lead Software Engineer, Data Solutions Engineering
FactSet Market Aggregates is looking for a talented senior engineer to join our team and help us continue developing the product and achieve our strategic goals. FMA is a content provider of index/benchmark level financial data. We run aggregates and analytics on security constituents collected from various FactSet sources like benchmarks, pricing, estimates, and fundamentals. We also maintain client-facing databases for most of our content, accessed via traditional means such as FQL and Screening.
We're seeking a Lead Software Engineer who can lead the team technically, is passionate about learning new technologies, and can guide us as we transition to scale our cloud infrastructure for better timeliness and cost efficiency while building new products and features.
What You'll Do
Provide technical leadership in collaboration with product teams to build, implement, and execute projects and their respective roadmaps.
Take up on-call responsibilities within the team.
Design, develop, and deploy new features/products to clients.
Proactive in providing technical solutions with effective communication & collaboration skills.
Perform Code Reviews and ensure best practices are followed.
Work in an agile team environment and collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth product delivery.
Improve existing processes and reduce technical debt.
Develop high-performing solutions to enhance the overall client experience.
Take ownership of projects and work on bug fixes and enhancements.
Effectively communicate with stakeholders on project scope and timelines.
What We're Looking For
Required skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science
Minimum 5-8 years of overall experience in Software Engineering/Data Engineering
3+ years of people management experience
Hands-on experience with Python (every new implementation is in Python)
Practical knowledge of working with Advanced SQL — window functions, CTEs, joins on composite grain, execution plans(as all the transformations(ETL), business logic are implemented in SQL). Also, SQL query optimization.
Experience with ETL(extract transform & load) pipeline & data warehouse design
Experience with PySpark (Spark SQL)
Familiarity with AWS - Redshift, EMR Serverless, S3, IAM
Analytical skills & Debugging/tracing ability Analytical/debugging
Desired skills
Familiarity with Perl
Familiarity with C++
Experience in Databricks
Knowledge/experience with System design
Knowledge/experience with Pandas and Lambda
