As a Lead Software Engineer – DevOps / Python / AWS at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will be responsible for implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Our main goal is to automate processes within the European Legal Entity JPMSE by leveraging AWS Cloud and AI solutions. You will be part of a highly qualified team that will enhance your knowledge while implementing cutting-edge solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review code written by others.
  • Design and implement scalable cloud-native software solutions using modern technology stacks to deliver highly available, performant, and resilient products.
  • Have a solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security, Clean Coding, Object-Oriented Programming, Jira.
  • Create RESTful APIs that are scalable, secure, and efficient.
  • Develop innovative AI/ML solutions and agentic systems utilizing public cloud architecture and modern standards, specifically with AWS
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leverage AWS services for scalable deployments
  • Create and maintain Docker images
  • Execute DevOps responsibilities such as container orchestration, deployments, and infrastructure management using Kubernetes

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 7+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Python (FastAPI)
  • Strong AWS skillset: EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS Aurora MySQL & Postgres, DynamoDB) with strong understanding of cloud architecture and best practices
  • Strong Experienced with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IAC) - Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Good to have LLM Experience: OpenAI, AWS Bedrock and Agentic AI.
  • Proficient in modern technologies like Spark
