Job Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Software Engineer, Engineering Systems to join our client's team in Hayward, CA. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands-on technical leader with 7+ years of software engineering experience who is eager to build the digital thread, APIs, data infrastructure, and AI-enabled software platforms connecting BIM, MCAD, PLM, and factory MES execution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop, and maintain the central digital thread linking BIM/MCAD design platforms (Revit, SolidWorks, ACC) directly to PLM, MES, and factory execution pipelines.
• Lead technical direction, code quality, and delivery for internal systems while guiding external development partners and future software hires.
• Leverage AI-assisted development practices and tools to accelerate prototyping, workflow automation, and data accessibility across engineering and plant operations.
• Build robust APIs, integration services, and cloud data infrastructure (AWS) to improve design-to-fabrication cycle times and data reliability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, structural, MEP, quality, and manufacturing teams to translate shop-floor constraints into automated software solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience with proven technical leadership over projects, architecture, or development teams.
• Demonstrated success engineering data integrations across complex domain software (e.g., CAD/BIM, PLM, MES, ERP, or manufacturing automation).
• Strong experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS), API architecture, CI/CD pipelines, modern testing frameworks, and monitoring/uptime practices.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership, systems thinking, and communication skills to bridge software delivery with physical manufacturing realities.
