About This Role
Spare parts availability is the backbone of operational continuity for customers running critical power conversion equipment — converters, transformers, and rotating machines — across the globe. As a Lead Services Specialist in Parts Services, you sit at the center of that commitment. You will own the commercial and fulfillment lifecycle for spare parts, from the moment a customer inquiry arrives to the point their order is delivered and invoiced. You'll be the single point of contact customers rely on, while coordinating internally across engineering, supply chain, warehouse, and logistics to make it happen accurately and on time.
This role is based at GE Vernova's Power Conversion & Storage facility in Chennai and offers direct visibility into a global customer base.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the full inquiry-to-order (ITO) cycle — managing communications, tracking order status, and keeping customers informed at every stage.
Prepare and submit accurate commercial offers using globally standardized quoting tools, ensuring alignment with GE Vernova's terms and conditions.
Analyze technical customer inquiries and translate them into actionable part configurations using engineering drawings, GE Vernova spares databases, vendor catalogs, and other available resources.
Collaborate with Parts Engineering, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to resolve customer needs and meet on-time delivery (OTD) targets.
Manage customer invoices and support cash collection processes with accuracy and diligence.
Lead small continuous improvement projects within the team, conduct systematic reviews, and guide colleagues on process adherence and best practices.
Apply a Lean mindset to daily operations — contributing to team targets related to data quality, process adherence, and delivery outcomes, and supporting colleagues to reduce backlogs.
Who You Are
You are a detail-oriented commercial specialist who thrives at the intersection of technical understanding and customer service. You take ownership of outcomes, communicate proactively with customers, and bring clarity to complex fulfillment challenges. You're comfortable working within structured processes while also identifying opportunities to improve them.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline) or equivalent technical qualification
Relevant experience in spare parts management, commercial operations, or technical sales support within an industrial, power, or energy equipment environment
Working knowledge of power conversion equipment — such as converters, transformers, or rotating machines — or a demonstrated ability to develop that knowledge quickly
Experience preparing commercial proposals or quotations using structured quoting tools and processes
Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for customer-facing and cross-functional communication
Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (such as SAP) and order management workflows
Preferred
Prior experience in a parts services, after-market, or field services support role within the Power Conversion, Energy, or Industrial sectors
Familiarity with vendor management processes, including part obsolescence identification and replacement sourcing
Experience working in a Lean or continuous improvement environment
Demonstrated ability to train, guide, or mentor team members on processes or new ways of working
