Lead Senior Project Manager – Program Performance

At Aurecon, we are optimistic about the future. We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.

What you’ll do
As a Lead Senior Project Manager within our Brisbane team, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role in the successful delivery of a significant portfolio of works, setting the standard for project performance, governance, collaboration and client confidence. You’ll lead and support project teams across Queensland to deliver outcomes that meet scope, time, cost, quality and safety expectations, while building trusted relationships across Aurecon, client and stakeholder groups.

  • Lead the delivery of a portfolio of projects, driving cost, schedule, quality and safety performance across your region or state.

  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to Senior Project Managers and Project Managers, supporting effective delivery, high performance, stakeholder management and timely escalation of issues.

  • Work closely with program leadership to review workloads, support resource planning and ensure teams are appropriately supported to deliver required outcomes.

  • Oversee project governance, including schedule, budget, risk, resources, deliverables, compliance and escalation management.

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with internal teams, client representatives and external stakeholders to support transparent communication, alignment and confident decision-making.

  • Lead project meetings, contribute to program-level reporting and support decision-making that enables efficient, quality-driven delivery.

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure safety requirements, reporting obligations, policies and regulatory standards are met.

  • Foster a “One Aurecon” culture by mentoring project leaders, supporting professional development and contributing to continuous improvement and business growth through client feedback.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven senior leadership experience coordinating and delivering medium to large projects or portfolios in complex program environments.

  • Strong capability in project governance, including contract administration, risk identification, mitigation, budget, schedule, quality and compliance oversight.

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage multiple interfaces and influence outcomes at senior levels.

  • Experience supporting teams to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes while navigating changing priorities, dependencies, conflicts and project challenges.

  • Familiarity with program management methodologies, tools, governance frameworks and relevant industry or regulatory environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the judgement to anticipate issues, remove roadblocks and support confident decision-making.

  • A commitment to safety, quality, collaboration and developing high-performing teams that deliver for clients and communities.
