Retail and Ticket Sales Cashiers are responsible for maintaining the retail gift shop, operating all the systems in the retail area, photo sales area and ticket sales area and handling cash and credit sales transactions utilizing the POS and ticket sales systems.  Cashiers convey the story of the Skywalk to guests and answer questions concerning Grand Canyon West locations and operations and Hualapai history and culture.  Outstanding customer service is provided at all times.  Acts as Lead Retail and Ticket Sales Cashier and assists in training less experienced or new cashiers. Assist with inventory maintenance tasks.
 
Knowledge and Abilities:
  1. Demonstrated ability to communicate well and interact with guests in a clear concise manner.  
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service by providing prompt, courteous and helpful information to guests.  Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast paced environment.
  3. Experience in use of POS systems and handling cash and credit transactions while following proper cash handling policies and procedures.
  4. Demonstrated ability to reconcile cash drawer and end of day sales reports.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work in and foster a team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.
  6. Knowledge of the Skywalk, Grand Canyon West locations, operations, Hualapai history and culture.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
1.      Handle cash and credit transactions using the POS and ticket sales systems.
2.      Responsible for assigned cash drawer and end of day balancing of cash and sales reports. 
3.      Handle all transactions using proper cash control policies and procedures.
4.      Assist in photo sales area, as needed.
5.      Assist guests with questions they have concerning the Skywalk, Grand Canyon West locations, operations, Hualapai history and culture. Provide outstanding customer service using high service standards.
6.      Assist with maintaining retail inventory and sales areas.
7.      Foster a team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.
8.      Assist with training new or less experienced Retail & Sales Cashiers on all duties and responsibilities. Act as a role model for the team.
9.      Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
 
 
Qualifications:
1.      Good oral communication skills. 
2.      Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record preferred.
3.      High School Diploma or GED.
4.      Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
5.      Prior experience working with a POS system or cash handling preferred.          
6.      Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.
 
Working Conditions:
Typical retail environment with high transaction volume. May be required to lift 25 lb. merchandise boxes.  Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays.
