Lightspeed Restoration of Middletown

Lead Technician

We're a locally owned and operated restoration company serving Middletown and the surrounding Monmouth County area. As one of our first hires, you won't just be running a crew, you'll be helping set the standard for how we operate as we grow. You'll work directly with the owner, not layers of corporate management.

We Offer:

  • Pay: $25-30/hr based on experience
  • A leadership role from day one, with real input into how the operation runs
  • A defined path forward: Production Manager → Production Supervisor and beyond as the team grows, with bonus potential tied to your crew's production, plus opportunities for pay increases as you earn certifications along the way
  • Full training and IICRC-backed certification support
  • A close-knit, team-oriented culture where you're helping shape the operation, not lost in a big organization
  • Real community impact, helping neighbors right here in Middletown and Monmouth County get back on their feet after water, fire, and mold damage

Job Summary:

The Lead Technician is a hands-on role. You're out on the job performing 24/7 emergency water damage recovery, mold remediation, fire restoration, and indoor air quality services in homes and buildings across Middletown and Monmouth County. On top of the hands-on work, you're overseeing and managing the crew, controlling job costs, production times, and quality assurance, acting as the primary point of contact for our customers, and responsible for a company vehicle and all equipment for both commercial and residential divisions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on restoration work as a core, daily part of the role: mold remediation, water damage cleanup, installation of preventative moisture control solutions, and HVAC and dryer vent cleaning per written scope of work
  • Run new jobs start to finish independently: assess the site, complete all documentation, communicate findings and updates back to ownership, and see the job through to completion
  • Manage the crew's production quality, job costs, and timelines, and provide strong leadership to ensure successful, safe, timely, and profitable project delivery and completion
  • Manage documentation on projects (i.e. photos, contracts, etc.)
  • Respond to emergency recovery situations when needed, 24/7
  • Work safely in a team environment
  • Ensure all safety measures are enforced on the job site

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in home services, construction, or restoration preferred; will consider 1-2 years with demonstrated crew leadership or project management
  • Must be able to run a job independently, start to finish, with no hand-holding
  • Working knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction practices required
  • Self-motivated and growth-oriented
  • Able to lead and work efficiently and effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to operate PC and mobile devices
  • Exhibit a professional, neat appearance
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record (MVR check required)

Safety Gear Provided:

  • PPE
  • Gloves (leather, nitrile, or coated cloth depending on application)
  • Safety Glasses or Goggles
  • N-95 Respirators
  • Poly Spun "Tyvek" style suits with hood and foot protection
  • Shoe Covers, Knee Pads, and Muck Boots
  • Hard Hats, Ear Protection, and steel-toe shoes may be required, depending on site application
  • Fall protection for aerial work

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
