About this role

The RN Lead oversees the delivery of nursing care in their assigned unit, ensuring adherence to state guidelines and company policies. They supervise and guide nursing and ancillary staff, auditing performance and providing coaching where needed. The role involves reviewing nursing care plans, monitoring patient outcomes, and maintaining high standards of patient teaching and self-care. The RN Lead also coordinates care across departments, ensures cleanliness and order in the unit, and supports orientation and training for new staff. This position requires attendance at institutional meetings and travel as needed, with work performed in a correctional facility setting.

What you bring to the table

EDUCATION

  • Successful Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

EXPERIENCE

  • Prefer a minimum of one-year clinical experience

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment

  • Current CPR Certification

What you will do

  • Directs and supervises nursing staff, ensuring adherence to licensure scope, policies, and procedures.

  • Reviews and audits nursing care plans, medical records, and staff performance, providing coaching and reporting findings.

  • Coordinates patient care with other departments and supports continuity of care across the facility.

  • Assists in training, orientation, staff meetings, and maintaining unit cleanliness, safety, and professional standards.

  • Identifies problems, develops solutions, and communicates issues or corrective actions to the Director of Nursing.
