Lead Receptionist

Compensation: $16.50 - $18.00 / hour
Schedule: 32 hours per week | 3 days a week and 1 weekend day | 9:00am - 5:30pm

What You’ll Do:
The Lead Receptionist plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional experience for all residents, visitors, and staff. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while overseeing and performing clerical and front desk operations. The Lead Receptionist ensures daily activities run smoothly, supports the reception team, and maintains high standards of efficiency and service in alignment with established procedures and leadership direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the reception team, including delegating daily tasks
- Provide training and ongoing support to new and existing team members
- Offer constructive feedback to support team performance and consistency
- Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate person or department
- Manage visitor check-in/check-out processes and ensure compliance with security procedures
- Answer, screen, and route phone calls while handling inquiries professionally
- Report any suspicious activity or concerns to administration promptly
- Maintain accurate and current resident and contact information
- Monitor daily census and update records as needed
- Assist staff and leadership with administrative tasks and front desk operations
- Manage front desk transactions, including basic cash handling and reconciliation
- Address and resolve issues or concerns from visitors, residents, and team members
- Provide clear information about community services, policies, and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a clerical or administrative role
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 words per minute)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and standard office equipment (e.g., multi-line phone systems, printers)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all ages, with sensitivity and professionalism when working with a senior (geriatric) population
