About The Team

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence is home to over 4,000 digital, cyber and intelligence experts. We work collaboratively across 10 countries to collect, connect and understand complex data, so that governments, nation states and commercial businesses can unlock digital advantage in the most demanding environments.

At our Malaysian Global Delivery Centre, we support our global business in the development of software products to support our customer mission covering product domains such as geospatial, cybersecurity and complex data analytics platforms.

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to work as a Lead ReactJS Developer as part of an agile development team.

Interview Process

Our interview process includes an in-person deep dive into the projects and experiences listed on your CV. Please ensure your CV accurately reflects your hands-on experience rather than rely on AI generated content. You will be expected to discuss the technical contributions listed in your CV in detail.

What you will be doing

  • Act as a technical consultant to UK-based stakeholders, translating complex business requirements into scalable architecture while providing data-driven insights on technical feasibility, risk, and timeline trade-offs.
  • Design and implement responsive web interfaces using ReactJS, Typescript, Material UI and other related technologies.
  • Write clean, modular, and maintainable code with comprehensive unit tests, adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers with effective code reviews and technical development plans.
  • Support high level estimation and sprint planning following agile methodologies.
  • Debug issues raised by clients and the test team to ensure swift resolution.

Role requirements:

  • This is a hands-on technical role with stakeholder management, looking for a candidate with recent technical rather than managerial focused experience.
  • Strong development background in FE technologies such as ReactJS, Typescript and Material UI expected, including advanced applications such as 3D rendering.
  • A keen eye for visual detail, layout, spacing, typography and overall UI quality.
  • Experience with backend technologies such as Java or Python an advantage.
  • Ideal candidate has at least 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Should possess at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science / information technology / engineering or equivalent with minimum CGPA 3.00.
  • Strong English communication skills with ability to communicate confidently to international stakeholders.

What we offer

  • An exciting opportunity to be part of the development of new product lines presenting a high level of technical challenge. We will support you with access to online L&D platforms, senior mentors and the opportunity for external training aligned to your work.
  • Work-life balance is important; you’ll get 18 days holiday a year (increases to 21 after 5 years’ service).
  • We support hybrid working and give flexibility for team leads to decide on the balance between remote and office-based working.
  • Our benefits package includes private family medical cover, maternity (4 months), paternity (2 weeks) & study leave.
  • We provide an annual allowance that can be used for dental, optical or health screening purposes.
  • You’ll be part of our annual bonus and share award scheme.
  • You’ll have a dedicated line Manager to help you develop your career and guide you on your journey through BAE Systems Digital Intelligence.

Life at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence
