About Us

Royal seeks a Proposal Design Specialist to join our team and provide dedicated graphic design and production support for proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, and other business development materials. This position will work closely with Royal's Proposal Team to transform technical content, data, and complex information into clear, compelling, and professionally designed deliverables.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Adobe InDesign user with strong graphic design instincts, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience supporting proposals and marketing efforts for engineering, infrastructure, construction management, disaster recovery, environmental, or other professional services organizations is preferred.

Here's What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, format, and produce proposals, statements of qualifications, presentations, and related materials using Adobe InDesign.
  • Develop compelling graphics, infographics, organizational charts, process diagrams, schedules, maps, tables, and other visual elements that make complex technical information easy to understand.
  • Work collaboratively with proposal professionals, technical staff, and project managers to translate concepts and technical information into effective visual communications.
  • Apply established brand standards while bringing creativity and strong design judgment to individual pursuits.
  • Develop and maintain InDesign templates, master pages, paragraph and character styles, graphic libraries, and other reusable design assets.
  • Create and edit vector graphics and other visual assets using Adobe Illustrator and related Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Support document layout and production in Microsoft Word, including highly formatted documents, tables, charts, and graphics.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to organize and present data for charts, tables, schedules, and proposal graphics.
  • Use Canva to develop supporting graphics and communications materials, as needed.
  • Perform final document production and quality-control reviews to ensure visual consistency, formatting accuracy, readability, and overall presentation quality.
  • Manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities while meeting firm proposal deadlines.
  • Support other marketing and business development design needs as workload requires.

The Criteria for Joining Our Team

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field. Relevant and sufficient work experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree requirement.
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience using Adobe InDesign, including experience developing and producing multi-page documents.
  • Demonstrated graphic design and document-layout experience, with a portfolio showing strong typography, page composition, information hierarchy, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to turn complex or text-heavy information into clear, professional visual solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively under firm deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with both creative and technical professionals.

Preferred

About Team Royal

The vision for Royal started with two young engineers working together in the industry with a belief they could do it better than it had been done before ─ better for clients, better for employees, and better for communities. From that initial vision, Royal brought its distinctive brand of engineering and consulting to the Gulf Coast in 2005, establishing its headquarters in New Orleans.

Founded with a culture focused on innovative solutions and dedication to our community, Royal quickly expanded from our initial services of Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Program Management, and Disaster Recovery to meet new challenges head on, with Coastal Engineering, Coastal Planning & Science, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Compliance, and Grants Management becoming key services in Royal’s portfolio. Now, after nearly two decades in business, we continue to strive to be our clients’ first call in the face of complex challenges.

The Royal team collectively shares varied skillsets, unique backgrounds, and a vast range of experience to support a myriad of projects and initiatives. Our unifying factor is that the work we do matters and creates significant impact in the world around us.

Excellence is built into every interaction we have ─ with each other and our clients ─ and into every effort and project we deliver.
