Job Description

The Lead Project Manager for Installations (LPMI) is accountable for leading the most complex, high-value, and strategic installation projects across multiple modalities and geographies. Operating with significant autonomy, the LPMI partners closely with sales, service, design, logistics, and external contractors to deliver installations that directly impact business performance and customer outcomes. Beyond project execution, the LPMI plays a pivotal role in shaping installation strategy, mentoring project teams, and driving cross-functional improvements that strengthen GE HealthCare’s customer experience and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of high-complexity and strategic installation projects, including multi-site, turnkey, and VIP customer accounts.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for installation challenges, ensuring timely resolution and business continuity.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, advising customers, contractors, and internal teams on complex technical and contractual matters.
  • Partner with sales and commercial teams to influence tender strategies, ensuring feasibility and competitiveness of offers.
  • Develop and implement advanced project plans, risk frameworks, and recovery strategies for critical projects.
  • Ensure integration of project outcomes with business objectives, revenue forecasting, and backlog management.
  • Champion EHS, compliance, and quality standards, setting benchmarks for others to follow.
  • Produce strategic insights and recommendations through analysis of install cycle times, costs, and customer satisfaction trends.
  • Mentor and coach PMIs across all levels (PB2 → LPB2), building a pipeline of skilled project managers.
  • Contribute to the development of global best practices, tools, and processes in collaboration with HPM leaders and COE.
  • Influence cross-functional and cross-zone initiatives to improve installation efficiency and customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive project management experience in healthcare, construction, or complex technical installations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale, multi-modality projects with strategic customer impact.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, business drivers, and cross-functional interdependencies.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead escalations, and negotiate complex solutions.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in backlog management, cost control, and revenue enablement.
  • Technical depth across modalities and construction trades, with ability to act as SME in critical customer discussions.
  • Ability to build and present impactful presentations to senior/executive leaders
  • Willingness to travel extensively across zones and regions.

Desired Characteristics

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent senior project management certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent process excellence expertise.
  • Proficiency with advanced project management and reporting tools (MS Project, Salesforce, BI dashboards).
  • Ability to drive cultural change and adoption of new processes across teams.
  • Recognized as a mentor, coach, and role model for peers and junior colleagues.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to represent HPM in high-level customer and leadership forums.
