Salary: Up to £54,000 depending on skills and experience

This role sits within the Project Management & Controls (PM&C) function and supports the delivery of the Type 26 Shipbuild programme at Govan. You will supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a team of project controllers, ensuring effective deployment and completion of all project controls processes across the assigned work scope. You will also provide professional guidance in Project Control practices, ensure adherence to programme governance requirements, and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of control methodologies within the project environment.

Core Duties:

  • Support the implementation of project controls processes across large, high-value projects, ensuring the consistent application of best-practice methodologies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor and report on project performance by analysing cost, schedule, and key performance indicators from multiple data sources, providing clear insights to support effective decision-making
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Control Account Managers, offering data-driven support to manage cost, schedule, risks, and emerging issues
  • Maintain core project controls activities, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) updates, resource profiling, and supporting risk and opportunity management to help ensure successful project delivery

Essential Skills:

  • You will have extensive professional experience in project coordinating, with the capability to support large and multi-layered projects
  • You will have demonstrated knowledge of core Project Controls disciplines, including reporting, Earned Value Management (EVM), cost management, scheduling, risk and opportunity guidance, and baseline change control
  • You will be proficient in key Project Controls toolsets such as COBRA and Tableau
  • You will be able apply good assessing and problem-solving skills to interpret highly detailed data from multiple sources, conduct root cause analysis, and present clear, actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • You will have experience contributing to the development of others, including supporting colleagues, coordinating cross‑functional activities, or acting as a delegate for senior managers

The Project Controls team:

You will join the Project Controls team supporting the Type 26 Programme delivering eight advanced naval vessels across the UK. Working with the Control Account Manager and Project Manager, you’ll provide project controls insight, collaborate with stakeholders, and develop your career within BAE Systems programme.
