Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) / Intelligence Systems (IS) is seeking motivated and self-starting Lead Program Technical Integrator (PTI) Engineer for our team based in Saint Charles, MO.
At Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) you will help connect, protect, explore and inspire. As Lead Program Technical Integrator (PTI) Engineer supporting the Program Chief Engineer (PCE) under PRO 6924 delegation, you will provide hands‑on technical leadership across the Direct Attack (DA) portfolio—supporting product variants such as JDAM, SDB, GLSDB, MOP/HAAWC, B-61 derivations, and related efforts. You will translate the PCE’s technical direction into executable integration plans, drive hardware/software integration across the product lifecycle, and ensure technical integrity for development, production, and sustainment.
Reporting to the DA Office of the Chief Engineer working closely with the Program Chief Engineer for independent technical direction, you will coordinate IPT activities, manage supplier integration, close technical risks, and prepare executive-level technical briefings. This role requires a system-integration mindset, strong technical judgment, and the ability to implement disciplined engineering processes to deliver safe, compliant, and mission-ready systems.
Position Responsibilities
Execute the Program Chief Engineer’s delegated responsibilities per PRO 6924 to ensure program technical integrity and compliance
Act as the primary integrator for hardware and software integration planning and execution across development and production lifecycles
Support Engineering Review Boards (ERB), Configuration Control Boards (CCB), and Material Review Boards (MRB); draft recommendations and follow-up actions
Maintain and report on the technical baseline health; coordinate and document baseline change proposals and approvals
Support IPT leads to ensure technical accountability and timely delivery of engineering artifacts
Validate system-level integration, verification & validation plans; coordinate test readiness and acceptance activities
Identify, assess, and drive mitigation/closure of program technical risks and escalated issues; produce Courses of Action (COAs) for resolution
Lead anomaly management and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes in coordination with mission assurance and quality teams
Coordinate supplier technical integration activities; support supplier reviews, acceptance testing, and nonconformance resolution
Prepare and deliver concise executive technical briefings, status updates, and risk reports for the PCE, Program Manager, and customers
Support PCE approval of engineering directives, systems engineering processes, continuous improvement initiatives, MRB/CCB/ERB decisions, and proposal technical scope reviews
Contribute to SOW development for R&D, sustainment, and new business needs; advise on technical staffing and resource requirements aligned to LRBP / EAC
Ensure adherence to export control and DoD technology release processes when working with controlled technical data
Day-to-Day Activities / Typical Duties
Chair or support weekly technical integration and risk review meetings; issue action logs and decision summaries
Review and approve integration-related deliverables: interface control documents (ICDs), verification plans, test reports, and supplier integration artifacts
Maintain views that track technical baseline changes, risk status, and integration milestones
Triage supplier and internal technical issues; lead cross-functional root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions
Coordinate test planning and execution with test leads, manufacturing, and suppliers
Lead, mentor and drive integration best practices and engineering rigor (BPSM/RCCA)
Prepare PCE-facing briefings and materials that summarize technical status, risks, and proposed mitigations
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
8+ years of experience leading (formal and/or informal) cross functional engineering teams
8+ years of execution and technical leadership on development or production programs
Demonstrated experience supporting a Program Chief Engineer or acting as a Program Technical Integrator or equivalent
Practical experience with systems integration, verification & validation, configuration management, and supplier technical oversight
Experience driving RCCA, anomaly management, and mission assurance activities.
Familiarity with AS9100, CMMI, ISO quality standards, DoD systems engineering policy, and export control requirements (ITAR/EAR)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master’s or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline
Proven track record in proposal technical scope reviews, SOW development, and staffing/resource planning aligned to LRBP/EAC
Prior experience of similar weapon system programs
Experience with avionics/software integration, USG SETR processes, Defense Acquisition Systems Engineering
Experience with production ramp activities
Demonstrated experience with lean engineering practices and digital engineering tools.
Strong systems engineering and systems integration capabilities
Effective technical risk management and trade study execution
Supplier management and contract technical oversight
Proficiency in configuration management, requirements traceability, and verification disciplines
Clear, concise executive communication and stakeholder engagement
Leadership and mentoring of cross-functional technical teams and Responsible Engineers
Process improvement orientation (BPSM, Lean, Black/Green Belt) and RCCA expertise
