Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Prepare, package and stock produce products for customers.
• Maintain product integrity in produce area, meeting or exceeding health department standards.
• Rotate inventory appropriately, FIFO.
• Order product from designated vendors.
• Answer customer’s questions regarding products, policies and services that AVP provides.
• Maintain clean and orderly department, walk-in etc.
• Request information or assistance using the PA system.
• Train, teach and educate fellow staff members on produce rules and regulations.
• Assure fellow staff members are following produce rules and regulations.
• Help to resolve customer’s complaints.
• Maintain proper communication with managers and fellow co-workers.
• Assist Grocery Manager with weekly schedule.

Qualifications:

• Must possess strong understanding of produce
• Mathematics skills
• Basic reading
• Ordering/inventory knowledge
• HAACP knowledge
• Food Safety knowledge
• Understanding of scale/weight

Must Demonstrate:

• Attention to detail
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to take direction

Ability to:

• Stand for several hours
• Walk
• Bend down
• Lift and carry at least 50 pounds
• Perform various repetitive motions
