As a Lead Procurement Engineer you will manage project, product and service deliveries for Westinghouse, for new AP1000 plants in Poland and other European locations. This requires successful procurement, delivery and turnover of equipment that supports the APX portfolio. This includes managing activities during the pre-PO phase, PO placement phase, PO execution phase, and final delivery and turnover of all equipment to the customer. The Lead Procurement Engineer is responsible for all phases of the procurement including project management, and achievement of financial and schedule milestones. You will report to Manager of Auxiliary Equipment area.
The team works in a hybrid model, with two days per week based at the office.
Drive localization/regionalization efforts to identify and develop suppliers locally in Poland to support new AP1000 projects in Poland and in other European countries.
Develop and implement the appropriate program management model, complementary to global execution model(s) to profitably promote Westinghouse's participation and leadership in the APX Supply Chain Portfolio.
Forecast program performance, including identification of risk areas and development of mitigation strategies to ensure overall program meets safety, quality, and financial goals.
Be a trusted partner to the Delivery Stream project procurement leader for each major customer project.
Provide strategic direction and execution plans focused on delivery and implementation of APX Supply Chain products that meets/exceeds incremental profitable growth for Westinghouse.
Lead and provide oversight to Delivery Stream teams across all Westinghouse, supplier, and customer sites.
Guide and lead decision-making, strategy development, and implementation for procurement of components and equipment.
Work with GSCS partners to develop and provide strategic sourcing strategies and execution plans focused on successful delivery and implementation of products that meet or exceed incremental profitable growth for Westinghouse.
Oversee training and mentor new hires and existing employees working on customer projects for the first time. Serve as primary project interface for project management, status, and responsibility for delivery of components and equipment within Westinghouse scope of supply.
Support development of Delivery Stream project management staffing forecast.
Participate in bid opportunities/meetings. Once projects are secured, serves as primary project interface, taking responsibility for status and delivering components and equipment within Westinghouse scope of supply.
Collaborate with design engineering and quality to develop appropriate document submittal and witness and hold point (W&HP) requirements.
Provide supplier strategy and procurement planning by driving supplier Identification and down selection, technical evaluations, quality audits and request for quotation package creations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, Engineering Discipline Required
10+ years of relevant experience; at least 5 years in a leadership role of project delivery to major technical design projects
In-depth manufacturing, financial, and economic experience, understanding of Energy Systems Product Lines
Ability to build relationships at executive level internally with WEC and with customers/utilities.
Proven major program leadership experience
Experience in written and verbal communication to executives
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The gross base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 17,000 to 21,225 PLN gross per month. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
