Wood has an opportunity for a Lead Process Engineer in Malaysia to support the delivery of LNG terminal and downstream Oil & Gas projects by providing technical leadership and high‑quality process engineering solutions.
The role will work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction teams to ensure process designs are safe, compliant, cost‑effective and aligned with contractual requirements, client expectations and Wood policies, procedures and systems.
The Principal Process Engineer will act as the technical authority for defined project scopes, providing leadership across feasibility, pre‑FEED, FEED and EPCM phases, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and mentoring process engineering personnel.

The Lead Process Engineer is responsible for leading process engineering delivery across the full project lifecycle, including bid and execution phases.
You will:
• Lead and deliver process engineering activities in accordance with HSEQ standards, project procedures and regulatory requirements
• Act as Process Lead Engineer, providing technical leadership, mentoring and oversight to process engineers and designers
• Develop and review key process deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, simulations, heat and material balances, equipment sizing and process safety studies
• Ensure all technical deliverables meet applicable codes, standards, legislation and Wood quality requirements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and vendors to deliver safe, cost‑effective and fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions
• Support constructability reviews, design optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives across projects
• Contribute to proposals, tenders, resource planning and project execution strategies
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise and leadership capability in process engineering, supported by relevant project experience. This will include:
• Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering (Bachelor’s or equivalent)
• Typically 10–20 years’ experience in process engineering across feasibility, pre‑FEED, FEED and EPCM project phases
• Proven experience in LNG terminals, FSRU and downstream Oil & Gas projects, with refinery or petrochemical experience desirable
• Strong technical capability in process design including simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulics and relief systems
• Experience with industry standard process simulation tools (e.g. Aspen HYSYS, UniSim, Aspen Plus or equivalent)
• Demonstrated leadership experience within multidisciplinary EPC or consultancy environments
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and deliver results
