Job Description

The Lead Plumber is responsible for carrying out all the duties and responsibilities of a plumbing mechanic at the journeyman level with a commitment to providing high-quality service. Services include, but are not limited to maintenance and repair of all types of high temperature water and high-pressure piping systems (e.g., hydraulic, nitrogen, oxygen, steam heating, steam generating systems, etc.), utility systems, supply systems, disposal systems, plumbing fixtures, plumbing fittings, and equipment such as sewage, water, gas, oil lines, compressed air, vacuum, and acid systems, water closets, water heaters, hydrants, back flow preventers, valves, pumps, and pipes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and supervise a team of journeyman plumbers, helpers, and steam fitters, ensuring a high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures and other plumbing systems for water, drainage systems, gas, steam, air, and other liquids.• Inspects completed work for conformance to local codes and standards.• Possess excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.• Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.• Manage all plumbing work orders in Maximo.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Other work-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS – EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Must have a minimum of six (6) years’ experience working in the Commercial Facilities/ Operation and Maintenance Arena.• A Journeyman Plumber License is required.• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance• Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance preferred.• Maximo CMMS Experience a plus, but not required.• Microsoft Computer skills (Office, Word, Outlook etc.) a plus but not required.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing systems and equipment in the building.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around the building site; see, hear and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Performance of essential and ancillary functions requires maintenance of physical conditioning adequate for sitting, walking or standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, squatting, stretching, bending for prolonged periods of time; at time lift and carry up to as much as 60 pounds, near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech with background noise.

In performing the required work, it is required to have the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, do a lot of walking, use every kind of hand tool, work in hazardous positions, carry heavy tools

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

A satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTI are required. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance at the Secret level.

This position is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Tatitlek Technologies, Inc. and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 99-99A, AFL-CIO.
