About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a talented Lead Platform Infrastructure Engineer with experience managing enterprise-class virtualization platforms, server engineering, and related on-premises hosting services.

The Hardware Engineering and Automation Team architects, maintains, and optimizes server hardware platforms for both virtualization and bare-metal deployments, while developing automation solutions to enable fully automated server provisioning and lifecycle management. We support advanced infrastructure needs—including AI workloads—by certifying high-performance components, integrating monitoring and security, and collaborating with DevOps to streamline infrastructure delivery and compliance. Through these efforts, the team accelerates infrastructure deployment, reduces operational overhead, and enhances the reliability and scalability of enterprise systems across the organization.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
  • Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
  • Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements
  • Drive solutions to reduce recovery
  • Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management and key rotations
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Design complex system upgrades
  • Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
  • Develop a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent, demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of Distributed Infrastructure and/or related IT Infrastructure experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with products related to Virtualization, Server Infrastructure, Converged/Hyper-Converged hosting and/or AI/ML Cluster platforms


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Hypervisors: VMware, Nutanix
  • Experience with GPU accelerated compute, Dell XE9680 PowerEdge systems
  • Operating Systems Knowledge: Windows, Linux
  • Experience leading or supporting the design, evaluation, and implementation of complex infrastructure hosting solutions and capabilities
  • Experience mentoring high-performing engineers
  • Experience with taking software/hardware products and services from inception to customer delivery
  • Proven experience transforming to and/or managing infrastructure functions in a product model construct, which would include participation in product roadmap planning and feature/backlog prioritization
  • Scripting: Python, bash, PowerShell, Ansible and integrating with API’s
  • Skills around automation to include familiarity with VMWare Aria/VRA, Nutanix Calm, Ansible, and similar
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code delivery and management
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team on multiple overlapping projects
  • Ability to operate effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
  • Customer focused, service-oriented attitude
